The trip:
The Güájares valley with its three villages, Güájar Alto, Güájar Faragüit and Güájar Fondón, make up an authentic and romantic rural area in Southern Spain. The valley is 20km from the beach and its climate is warm even in winter. Hiking in this area in winter is a privilege.
Our guided hiking trip runs through the villages of Güájar Faraguit and Alto, pine and holm oak forests, and crosses small white riverbeds. We’ll see the endemic plant Buxus balearica, discover a natural spring, will pass along small terraced plots of land with tropical fruits, orange and lemon trees. The area is also interesting because of the archaeological settlement called “El Castillejo” that dates back to the XIII century (Almohad period).

Equipment recommended:
We recommend carrying 2l of water. Sunglasses, sun cream, protective lip cream and a hat. Hiking sticks are essential because we will descend along a stony path. Base layer, lightweight fleece, and warm fleece or down (or synthetic) second layer, windstopper, long trousers, and trekking shoes. Torch or headlamp and your personal first aid kit.

Participants should take nuts, dried fruits, and sandwiches for lunch. It is possible to sample traditional dishes for lunch or tapas in the bar in Güájar Alto, 4 km far from the finishing point.

Price of “custom dates”: 65€/pp, including guiding, insurance, and transportation. 2 participants minimum. 20% off for more than 4 participants.

Purchasing Conditions: Excursions must be booked and paid for at least three days in advance.  Participants must arrive at the meeting point on time. The group will wait for participants for five minutes, but then leave.  In this situation, no money will be reimbursed.  All participants should ensure that they know how to get to the meeting point and if you have any questions or doubts, please do not hesitate to contact us.
