Lavaderos de la Reina means ‘The Queen’s washing place’. We’ll drive to Güéjar Sierra and our starting and finishing point will be “El Corralejo” with an altitude of 2,088 m. We’ll spend two hours on the first part of the route that will lead us to Peña Partida shelter. This first stop is a natural viewpoint with a privileged view of all the Sierra Nevada peaks.
We’ll keep ascending until we reach the entrance of the headwaters of the Lavaderos de la Reina.
In this area, we’ll discover an idyllic landscape made up of waterfalls, flower-filled fields, and small lakes. We’ll stop and have lunch at the lowest part of this glacial valley. We will spend two hours in the lower part, near the lake, visiting the area, eating, chatting or simply contemplating this stunning scenery. We’ll take the Sulayr route to go back to the Peña Partida shelter and two hours more to the starting point of our hike.
We recommend carrying 2l of water. Hiking sticks are essential. Sunglasses, trekking shoes or boots, sun cream, protective lip cream and a hat. Three layers of clothes, including a windstopper and warm clothes. We’ll be at 2,600 m altitude it is necessary to bring gloves. A windstopper is useful for the hills. Sunglasses, sun cream, protective lip cream, a hat, your personal first aid kit, a small towel and a second pair of socks.
Participants should take nuts, dried fruits, and sandwiches for our picnic in the countryside.

Purchasing Conditions: Excursions must be booked and paid for at least three days in advance. Participants must arrive at the meeting point on time. The group will wait for participants for five minutes but then leave. In this situation, no money will be reimbursed.
