The trip:

The starting point of the hike is Melegis, a village in the Lecrin Valley. One of the characteristics of this trail is the diversity of landscapes that we will discover. The Lecrin Valley is a depression among mountains, which are relatively near to the coast, so it has a “microclimate” that allows the cultivation of orange and lemon trees. During the hiking trip we will pass through different villages of the valley: Murchas, Chite, Lecrín (Talará), and Restábal that preserve features of their Muslim legacy. Big churches represent the new power which settled in the area after the Christian conquest. An interesting point of the trip is Murchas Castle, which is positioned on the top of a rocky hill from where we can see the entire valley.

We will walk alongside different rivers (the Torrente, Durcal and Ízbor rivers) that flow into the Beznar reservoir. Is an interesting place for fishing and watching different species of water.
